We’ve officially entered the portion of 2016 that shall henceforth be referred to as the “home stretch”. The holidays are here, and that means that this (insert exotic expletive of your choice) year is drawing to a merciful close. As of today, there are only twelve days until Christmas Eve. So, to celebrate the holiday season and all the goodwill that it tends to inspire, we’ll be sharing a cocktail recipe each day from now until that silent night we all look forward to with so much enthusiasm. So on this, the first day of the last twelve days before Christmas, we give to you today’s cocktail:
Taste of the Holidays
KANU Lounge at The Whiteface Lodge (Lake Placid, N.Y.)
It seemed only fitting to kick things off with this cocktail whose name tells you its story in four words. Any cocktail recipe that includes the phrase “drunken cranberry” is all right in our book.
Build in a Tom Collins glass:
- 2oz Blue Line Gin
- 1oz Xmas syrup (orange clove nutmeg simple syrup)
- 1oz cranberry juice
- Splash of club soda
Add ice. Garnish with a drunken cranberry speared on a rosemary sprig.
That’s it; you’re done! Now drink up and congratulate yourself for doing your part to make the holidays a blast.
Just try not to toss back so many that you forget to come back tomorrow (and the next day, and the next, and so on) for another great cocktail recipe inspired by the most wonderful time of the year!
