Raise a Glass to the 2019 Preakness Stakes With This Maryland Classic Cocktail

Thoroughbred racing fans will soon converge on Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, MD for the 2019 Preakness Stakes scheduled to begin this morning at 10:30 a.m. EDT. 13 horses will compete for top honors under the watchful eyes of folks either cheering from the stands or tuning in via television or livestream to observe history being made. And, during the course of the event, we dare say that an alcoholic beverage or two will doubtless be enjoyed by many a spectator. Wherever you are today, you can be among them in spirit (no pun intended), by mixing this take on a Maryland classic cocktail, the Bare Knuckle Black-Eyed Susan.

This bourbon-led libation is made using Bare Knuckle Straight Bourbon Whiskey, produced by KO Distilling in nearby Manassas, VA. Stir it up at your Preakness-viewing party, or stop into The Grille at Harryman House in Reistertown, Maryland where it is served.

Shake well, and strain into a rocks glass with crushed ice. Garnish with orange slice and cherry.
