Negroni Week is merrily rolling along, and inspiration is flowing freely with regard to people finding new spins to put on the beloved cocktail. Joining that legion of the inspired is The Maple Guild which, working in collaboration with the crafty bartenders at Silo (incidentally, a good place in D.C. to catch a bite of modern American cuisine soaked in French/Swiss exuberance), have given the world an imaginative maple-infused take on the drink for Negroni Week.
As for food pairings, I don’t know about anyone else, but French Toast is sounding like a slam dunk.
0.75 oz Bombay Sapphire
0.75 oz Campari
0.75 oz punt e mes
0.25 The Maple Guild cinnamon infused maple syrup
Stir (or shake if you’re not a purist) until maple syrup mixes in, and serve over rocks with large orange garnish squeezed over top.
